Andre is passionate about many things in life, not necessarily in the order written here. What is his favorite? The answer is very much dependent on the moment and Andre often combines several passions in a single event. His people, his cycling, dogs, photo artistry and outdoor adventures sometimes to the point of being ridiculous.
Andre is the epitome of a people person and dogs were happy to fall under his spell as well. Pretty sure Andre never met a dog he didn’t bond with.
Andre’s photo career started out as a busy, traveling wedding photographer, however, his skills blossomed far beyond the basic. He fine tuned his art both behind the camera and in front of the computer. His superb photo art often involved multiple pictures and painting with light to create images to delight and amaze.
Andre loves to cycle, some years traveling thousands of kilometers in a season. Pedaling a bicycle in and through the environment, experiencing the sights, sounds and smells is his happy place. Andre also has the need for speed and the solution was flying downhill, as fast as possible, carving the hair pin turns at gravity defying angles. Sharing his cycling knowledge and enthusiasm encouraged many a new rider to challenge themselves and to appreciate the 2 wheel human powered sport.
Andre and I climbed many mountain summits in knock you off your feet wind, skin stinging sleet, rain, whiteouts, snain and snow, with or without a dog. The parking lot would often be empty and the trail, silent, other then the swish of our snowshoes as we broke trail to an amazing viewpoint after a big dump of fluffy snow.
“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”
Thanks for all the memories Andre,
