Riding Red Roofs Road out of Sechelt - the first time with Andre telling me you have to go fast down that first big hill so you can get the momentum to ride over the rest of the rollers at maximum speed. Another trip and someone picked up some short pieces of heavy rebar - they would reappear every day hidden away in somebodys bike bag and if you were'nt you would ride with them the whole day. The hill climb on Gabriola Island. Every year Andre would suss out a new rider who was maybe a little competitive. The whole week leading up to Gabriola all the talk would be about the big hill climb " you really have to get a good head of speed going down the hill so that you have enough to get up the climb" and then you're finally there at the top of the downhill and you send the new rider off down the hill and they start up the monster hill climb while the rest of us turn left at the bottom of the hill to take in views of the lighthouse.
Andre the jokester
I joined the photography club for a bit to improve my pics and I did but usually the best part of the night was seeing Andre's pictures. He was passionate about his photography and it showed.
Hope there is a fast, light bike up there with a pannier to carry your camera gear. See you sometime.
