It is not death most people are afraid of but the reflection of the things they did not do
in their life! Andre has lived a life fuller than most of us, possibly many of us put
together. Who has been a stuntman, IT guru, photographer, and outgoing human
‘connector’ of friends all in one lifetime – Andre! When I first met Andre, it was thru
‘mutual friends’ – does that sound familiar. You see he has a knack for seeing the good
in people, the real in people the heart in people.
I have the privilege of having meet you and being a part in your life my friend! Thank
you, for the precious moments you have added, the joy and some healthy exercise.
Andre, your zest for doing things that defined you, were slowed down and you may
have thought ‘it’ won – for a moment. The truth is you kicked it – flat on its butt (I am
being polite as this is in print) you have redefined the path on how to continue. You are
steering that indomitable spirit, known as Andre, once again. Remember cycling -your
encouragement how I could probably chase and pass a lot of ‘male spandex’, BBQs with
friends, hiking, walking with Jazz and later Minka – our dogs. Going for spur of the
moment or planned coffees & dinners, always having people together. Then there is
your sense of humor, obvious or not, sometimes questionable, or dark, always had me
intrigued. You had a way of putting people at ease and creating a comfortable open
space. I will miss you, our conversations – either serious or entertaining, and will try to
always think what you might say in the moment. Like now, “it is not my intention to give
away the plot, but I think I die at the end” – typical Andre.
I know you are looking forward and trying to start or leave a legacy. Spoiler alert, my
turn my friend, you already have – connecting those around you! #LoveAndre
With love always – Astrid Heitmar
